A Conscience Is A Terrible Thing To Waste

"Prove to me there is a God" is a statement that is commonly said but not proved as often. It leaves people feeling a bit helpless when there is no concrete evidence that you can put your finger on. Either you believe...or you don't. While pondering this one day I thought to myself, there has to be an answer and it has to be so simple. And God laid it on my heart that He does have that answer and this is what He said, "It's your CONSCIENCE!" Wow! What a revelation!

"For that which is known about God is evident to them and made plain in their inner consciousness, because God [Himself] has shown it to them." Rom.1:19 (Amplified)

If someone has an inner consciousness, they will also have a conscience. It's that inner voice or feeling that guides us through things. Either we obey or we don't, but no matter what we choose to do, our inner consciousness will leave us feeling satisfied or it will eat away at us with guilt. Where did this come from if a Creator didn't put it in us? It seems to be too far advanced to have been illogicaly evolved and what purpose was it meant for, if not to know the Lord?

"For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So (men) are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification]." Rom. 1:20 (Amplified)

In other words, we can't look at any thing and say there is no God, because He made it all. Even Charles Darwin later admitted that he made a big mistake and realized his own theory of evolution was totally ridiculous, but unfortuneately it's still being taught in schools today. This is the world we live in and we need to take it back and make God the center focus as He created us. I just don't like thinking that I evolved from slime and from that into an ape and eventualy became who I am today. Rather, I love to believe that my Creator took alot of thought into my creation!

It's a fact that every human person is born into sin, it's a given. It's also a fact that God has given us a conscience in which to reach us. It's His way of letting us know we need some help. Guilt will result from wrong doing without ever being told. God put this into us so we could realize that we need a Savior to free us from guilt and condemnation. People are just naturally sinful creatures. Until a person accepts Christ, they are considered to be living life of the flesh. It's self pleasing, no matter who else may be hurt by it, including God. It's SIN!

"Since ALL have sinned and are falling short to the glory in which God bestows and receives." Rom. 3:23 (Amplified)

Simply put, we are naturally sinful and lustful creatures with no hope of redemption aside from Christ. Without Christ we will never please God. Nope...NEVER.

"So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please God, or be acceptable to Him." Rom. 8:8 (Amplified)

Ouch! That one hurt. As I take notice of the philosophies and the moral corruption in the youth of today, my heart just aches. These young people are not being taught and brought up in God's Word. The world has influenced them the way Satan has planned. Sexuality is taken so lightly and until the consequences catch up with them, (and they will) they are having a free for all. For example I know of one young man barely in his twenties who is paying child support for two young children and he has no intent of settling down with either one of the children's mothers. In fact these two half-siblings are only months apart in age. This young man continues to explore his sex life with as many women as he can. He thinks this makes him a "real man". Has he given any thought at all about what his children will say to him one day when he was not there for them? My bet is he hasn't thought that far ahead. And the really tragic thing of all is this pattern will be repeated in their lives one day unless they come to know Christ. Even when this young man does turn from his sinful lifestyle, he will still have to pay the consequences. God will and does forgive ALL sins, but He lets us learn from our tragic mistakes. These may last a life time.

God's Word tells us over and over again that lusts and desires of the flesh will destroy us every time. But Christ gives us all a new start. I'm so thankful that my Lord is forgiving of all my shortcomings.

"For the wages which sin pays is death, but the (bountiful) free gift of God is eternal life through (in union with) Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom. 6:23 (Amplified)

How do we come to Jesus? By confessing our sins and letting Him take control. God calls this being born again.

"I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person be born again (anew from above), he cannot ever see (know, be aquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God." Jn. 3:3 (Amplified)

Jesus said this in all seriousness. He was very solemn when He said this. Salvation is our "get out of jail" card in life's game board. If you don't accept Christ, you will be held a prisoner by Satan forever.

You might be saying, "But I'm a good person, I believe in God." But Christ Who is the living God says this;

"I am the Way and the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me." Jn. 14:6 (Amplified)

We can never hope to get out of jail unless we follow Jesus and go His way. He leads us in truth, (unlike the world does) and in return He gives us eternal life. There just is no other way. How do we go about doing this? Again we have directions for this too.

"Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you WILL be saved." Rom. 10:9 (Amplified)

Once you believe this and confess it, God then promises you will NEVER be put to shame (Rom.10:11) There's nothing to be ashamed of. Anyone who doesn't understand will soon want what you have when they see how your life has changed. How will you know if you are saved? Christ tells it this way;

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if ANYONE hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him, and he [will eat] with Me." Rev. 3:20 (Amplified)

When you feel Him tugging at your heart strings, you will be conscious of His presence. Then you open up your heart to Him and welcome Him in. You will never again experience such a dinner invitation! Once Christ comes into dine with you, He will never let you go hungry again.

When we find Christ, we discover that we were the ones who were lost!
